Description
Shankula Shakuntala and her family. Shankula is 24 years old and lives in this one-room house with her husband, parents-in-law, her three children and the three children of her husband's brother. After she left for two weeks to visit her mother who was very sick, she lost her work as a domestic worker. Luckily her husband has a job in the construction industry, but that is not enough to get better housing. She is standing very proud in her most favorite corner of the house so I could take this portrait of her.
The young girl didn't like it when her grandmother told that she has become thirteen. From that age girls have to stay in, the must be protected because they could get pregnant…
